For OEM Partners
Sustain Legacy Products Through Strategic IP Acquisition
Transfer legacy and non-core product lines to IMS so your team can focus on innovation—while we protect the customers and market you’ve built.
Why OEMs Partner with IMS
Following our acquisition by Perimeter Solutions, IMS is expanding a new business model: acquiring or licensing legacy product lines and sustaining them with our vertically integrated manufacturing capabilities.
Focus on Growth
Transfer legacy and non-core product lines to IMS so your team can concentrate engineering, sales, and capital on next-generation products.
Lifecycle Continuity
We sustain acquired products for the entirety of their remaining lifecycle—honoring warranties, fulfilling contractual obligations, and supporting end customers without disruption.
Manufacturing Expertise
Leverage our New England facility, rapid prototyping heritage since 2005, and full life-cycle PCBA capabilities to keep legacy products viable and profitable.
How the IP Acquisition Model Works
In many instances, IMS supports clients’ end-of-life activities by purchasing their IP and fulfilling contractual obligations using our manufacturing expertise and resources. This creates sustainable value for OEMs, their customers, and IMS as the portfolio grows.
- Evaluate — We assess legacy product lines, IP, supply chain, and customer commitments together with your team.
- Acquire or License — IMS purchases or licenses the product IP and assumes responsibility for ongoing production and support.
- Transition — Knowledge transfer, tooling, and documentation move to our vertically integrated New England facility.
- Sustain — We manufacture, fulfill orders, and support the product through end-of-life—protecting your brand and your customers.

A New Model for OEM Legacy Products
On December 24, 2024, IMS was acquired by Perimeter Solutions (NYSE: PRM). In addition to supporting and accelerating IMS’s core business strategy, Perimeter Solutions is adding a new business model to IMS: acquiring or licensing OEM legacy and non-core product lines to sustain them for the entirety of their remaining lifecycle.
This allows OEM partners to focus their resources on new and current products while IMS assumes responsibility for manufacturing, fulfillment, and customer support. As the portfolio of acquired products grows, sustainable value is created for OEMs, their customers, and IMS.
